Trevin falling asleep eating

Tonight Trevin was so tired that he was literally falling asleep while I was feeding him his oatmeal!!! HAHA!

Pretty uneventful day here...

The last couple days have been pretty uneventful here. I am finally starting to feel better after catching the crud from Trevin! Also, Trevin has been sleeping through the night GREAT! He goes to bed around 930 and hasn't been waking up until 8-9am! It is quite amazing! :) Just thought I would share another few pictures. Hope everyone is well!

His first ball--he loves it! He tries to suck on it! haha

His very own chair--(looks terrible..its from my phone and he was moving)

Happy half birthday Trevin Scott!

Trevin turned 6 months old today!!! I can't believe how fast he is growing! We went to the doctor for his 6 month check up today. He weighed in at 16 lbs 15 oz (lost a little the past week when he was sick) and 26 inches tall! His pediatrician said his development and skill level are "absolutely outstanding" for a 6 month old! I am so proud of my smart baby boy!!! The nurses and doctor commented once again on how he is one of the happiest babies they have ever seen! He had to get his shots today though, which he wasn't so happy about. Neither was mommy! :(

Aside from all that, we get to start stage 2 baby food (meats, mixed veggies, mixed fruits) and some finger foods like graham crackers and Gerber puffs and stuff. Tonight I let him feed himself a graham cracker for the first time. He absolutely LOVED it! He was SO happy to be able to feed himself. For supper he got to eat turkey w/ gravy and sweet potatoes mixed with corn. He gobbled it all up in no time!

First day of Spring =)

Well, Spring is FINALLY here!!! The weather was gorgeous today to show for it! =)

Our weekend was great! Yesterday we went to Lacey and Kenny's house for their dog Dexter's birthday party! Yes, their little puppy turned one! It was cute! Trevin loved seeing the puppies! I took a picture of him with a birthday hat on at his first birthday party--even if it was for a dog. :)

After the party, we did some shopping and made deer enchiladas for supper. Mmm! After we got Trevin to bed, we watched the move The Hurt Locker. Great movie!

Today we had Trevin's 6 month photo shoot!!! We had so much fun! Kristyn came up from Mitchel and we went to Falls Park to take pictures since it was so beautiful outside! Even after 3 hours and 250 pictures later, Trevin was still all smiles and not the least bit cranky! Man we are lucky to have such a happy baby! =) Can't wait to see all the pictures! If anyone wants to order some let us know!!!

Tomorrow Trevin turns half a year old. I can hardly even believe it has been 6 months since we brought that little bundle of joy home from the hospital! Time goes so darn fast. He is getting SO big! He has his 6 month well check tomorrow, so I will update everyone one his stats. At the doctor last week he was 18 pounds 1 oz with his clothes on!! We have a thick little monster on our hands!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I will let everyone know how the little monster is growing and how he is doing after being sick last week. Goodnight!

St. Patty's Day

Since Trevin wasn't feeling well before, I took a few St. Patty's pictures yesterday. Just thought I would share. :)

Spring is in the air!

Yesterday was the first nice day (in the 50s!) in forever!!! Since Trevin has been sick, I didn't think I should take him out and about too much, so we went and sat on the patio and got some fresh air! He loved it! School had just let out (we live next to a middle school) so he was fascinated watching all the cars and kids running around. Maybe we will go for a walk today before the next rain system hits later... Here are a few pics-- (don't mind his snot nose!!)

September 22, 2009--best day of our lives!

Since I started this blog now (Trevin will be 6 months on Monday!) I thought I would make a few posts updating everyone from when we had our precious little man to now. I will start with the day I went into labor, our time in the hospital, and our first week home...**may be TMI for some!!**

September 21, 2009--
I had a doctors appointment that Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. We then scheduled induction for the following night (Tuesday) due to severe itching over my entire body. I was 38 weeks 5 days. I was so excited to know Trevin was finally coming! I text and called everyone to let them know we would be going into the hospital Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m.

Well, that afternoon my friend Jessica and I went to Wal-Mart to get some last minute baby things and prepare for our hospital stay the next night. At about 4:00 p.m. (AT WAL-MART) I noticed my water starting to "leak"...Of course I didn't think that I was really going into labor...but Jessica assured me that was what was happening! Well we hurried through out little shopping trip and headed home to see if that was what was really going on. I wasn't going to call the doctor, but I finally came to the realization that my water really was breaking! I called the hospital and they told me to get my butt in there. =)

I text Ryan and let him know it was time to go to the hospital. I swear he was home from work in 5 minutes flat! He came running through the door in his scrubs from work yelling "I'm ready!! Let's go! Let's go!" HAHA! He was just a tad excited! I told him he better grab himself some clothes to throw into the hospital bag, but he refused to take the time and said he would be alright..(he regretted this later!! he FROZE in the delivery room in his shorts and t-shirt!) I scarfed down my Subway (I was well aware they would not let me eat once I was admitted) and we were off to the hospital!

We got to the ER around 6 p.m. I was still not having any contractions or labor pains whatsoever! We walked in and the receptionist just looked at me and smiled and said "Is it that time?" After I assured him it was, he handed me the triage paperwork and told me to have a seat...which I refrained from doing...my water was LEAKING! Sitting was the last thing I wanted to do!!! After about 20 minutes, a man came down with a wheel chair and escorted us up to triage. I argued that I was totally fine to walk up there, but he insisted that he wheel my big butt up so away we went.

Once in triage, they hooked me up to the monitors to check for contractions, made sure it was my water that broke (like I didn't know!) and checked my dilation. I was only 1.5cm dilated and having very light contractions that I could barely feel. I felt great for being in labor!!! Yeah that didn't last long...

Once we were admitted and put in our Labor and Delivery room, I got my IV and hooked up to all the monitors. The IV was quite the experience...I have never had one before and I hate needles. As I am looking away the nurse goes "OH" and Ryan tells me not to look...so of course I look! Apparently she hit one hell of a vein---there was blood EVERYWHERE! I shouldn't have looked!!! They had to change my bedding and everything...

Once we got past that FUN, a doctor came in and checked me. They gave me a pill to help get me to dilate and hopefully get things moving along a little better without needing pitocin. They assured me that it wouldn't throw me into hard labor, and that I wouldn't be having the baby into well into the next day (it was about 8 p.m. at this time). Since I believed them, I let them give me Ambien to help my sleep, on top of the Benadryl I was taking for the itching issue I already had. So basically double dose of sleep aid thinking it would help me rest so I was good and ready for hard labor the next day.

Boy were they wrong!!! By 9:30 p.m. I was in HARD, painful labor!!! I didn't want any pain medications (only an epidural) and I was far from being able to have that yet. I had bad back labor because Trevin wasn't positioned quite right yet. Every contraction got worse and worse. It was pain like I never expected... to top it off I could hardly keep my eyes open between contractions because of the Ambien and Benadryl!

September 22, 2009--

Around 2:30-3 a.m. I couldn't take the pain anymore. Ryan was just stunned at how much pain I was in and didn't know what to do other than sit there and stare at me. lol. He told me later that that was the worst possible thing he has ever had to see. By that time (about 5 hours of intense contractions) I was begging for my epidural. They tried convincing me to try the tub or something first, but that was NOT happening! They checked me and I was dilated enough for the epidural so they called the anesthesiologist.

I had always been afraid of that gigantic needle, but by that time I could care less what they were shoving into my spine, as long as it made the pain stop!!! They had Ryan sit in front of me and help keep me calm and steady while they put in the epidural. They doctor was trying to ask me questions, but I couldn't even answer through the pain...then Ryan and the anesthesiologist were just chatting about hunting while I was getting a needle shoved into my spine! Go figure! haha.

I was so happy and thought I would finally get some rest and relax a little before I would have to start pushing...No such luck... Trevin was still not positioned correctly, so I felt EVERY contraction in my hip joint. I was SO TIRED from the sleep meds, and every time my eyes would shut and I would be almost out a contraction would come and I was wide awake in pain again. They also had to flip me side to side every 20 minutes to keep the medicine even in my body.

Finally around 5 or so Trevin positioned himself where he needed to be and I was in complete relief! ZERO pain. It was absolutely amazing. Of course by that time, I was so worked up that I didn't get any sleep anyways. I did get to just lay there and relax a while though. By 5:30 a.m. I was fully dilated and ready to push, but they let me just relax a while longer and let the baby work his way down on his own some before making me start the pushing process. I needed that!

At almost 6:30 a.m. I started to push. I was surprised that this process started out with just me, Ryan, and the nurse. I always thought the doctor was there the entire time! Apparently not until you are crowning. At first the pushing wasn't so bad. With the epidural I couldn't really feel much...just some pressure. They had to tell me when to push. After a while I got nauseous, started vomiting...then had to be put on oxygen between contractions because I was losing my breath and Trevin's heart rate was starting to go down.

Finally the doctor came in and it was go time! I thought I was never going to stop pushing! Every time I prayed that it was the last time...Ryan, being his humorous self, was just trying to make me laugh the entire time. Making comments like "Oh oh, he is going back in! You gotta push harder" and "OMG you have no idea how bad it smells." Thanks ass! haha. He had the doctor and nurses laughing too. They were all joking about calling the Argus Leader because I was the 12th to give birth that night shift already! And it was the first day of Fall.

After 45 minutes of pushing, and almost 10 hours of hard labor (15 hours since my water broke), at 7:13 a.m. Trevin Scott Audiss was born! It was the single best moment of our lives!! I remember just staring at him as tears ran down my face. Ryan was there taking pictures right after he cut the cord! (180 pics by the time we left the hospital!!).

Trevin Scott Audiss
September 22, 2009--7:13 a.m.
8 lbs 19.75 inches

We were both guessing his weight before he was born. I said 8 pounds 1 oz....When they went to weigh him he peed!!! He was 8 pounds even! That pee was his 1 oz so I was so right! :)

They asked me if they could get me anything after he was born...all I wanted was FOOD! They told me I had to wait another 45 minutes. GRR I was one hungry momma! haha. Once we were moved to our regular room, I got my french toast I was longing for! =)

That day I was so tired from my overnight labor, but we had visitors most of the day and I just couldn't take my eyes of my new baby boy long enough to sleep! My mom and Doug were there as well as Ryan's parents. Bunch of proud grandparents I tell ya! We also had some friends visit later that evening.

That night we chose to keep Trevin in our room. I did get the nurse to find me a fan!!! (most people know I can NOT sleep without one...I blame my parents for that! hehe) But with Trevin waking every hour, the nurses coming in to check me every few hours, and Ryan snoring, we didn't get a whole heck of a lot of sleep. I was so ready to go home the next day!

Our First Week Home

Boy were those first nights home rough! It was nice having friends and family around. At night however, sleep was limited! There were nights when one of us would have to take Trevin into the living room and put him in his swing just so he would sleep a little and one of us could get some sleep. It was tough but worth every minute and it didn't last long. By a couple weeks old he was sleeping 4 hour stretches which was AMAZING! We kept him in a basinet next to the bed. Since I was nursing, it was easy to just pull him into bed with us when he woke up at night. We gradually learned what worked for us, and are learning this parenting business more and more every day!

Separation anxiety? I sure hope not...

So hopefully it was just a fluke....But this morning when Ryan left for school/work, Trevin started whimpering and just stared at the door! Oh boy are we not ready for the separation anxiety stage yet! Ryan was pretty excited about it though...haha

Aside from that...Trevin seems to be feeling better every day! Still trying to get over that nasty cough, and still has a little snot nose...but MUCH better than a couple days ago! He is definitely NOT a fan of his medicine! We have to fight to keep it in his mouth so he will just swallow it. Little turd just makes a face and spits it right back out no matter how we put it in his mouth! Only another 8 days of that...

It is supposed to be in the 50's today!!!! That is a HEAT WAVE! =) If it weren't such a sloppy, muddy mess outside Trevin and I would go for a walk. The sun is even going to shine for the first time in a week! Maybe we will just sit on the patio and watch the traffic this afternoon. That is Trevin's new favorite thing! The other day when he was cranky we pushed his highchair up to the big patio door/window and opened the blinds. He sat and watched the cars and the gas station across the street for a good half hour, just amazed! :)

Other than maybe some fresh air on the patio, it looks like a laundry, dishes, clean the apartment kind of day. Maybe I will get a honeymoon place booked...and our guest list finalized...Hmmm....

Monster is getting better...

Here is a picture of how Trevin felt last night...sad!

Poor little monster!!! Thankfully today he is feeling much better! No fever, and much less cranky! The antibiotics must we working! He does still have a TERRIBLE cough today! Last night after his bowl of oatmeal he puked the entire works back up onto Ryan after his dose of medicine!!! It was really sad, but I couldn't help but laugh. :) Note to self--no nasty liquid medicine after oatmeal--

Ryan was back to work today, and is feeling much better. He and Trevin were even wrestling around on the floor tonight after supper so they must be feeling better!

The majority of my day was spent trying to learn my camera!!! I am going to get this picture taking stuff down eventually! :) I read through the manual and have been looking at websites for tips and such. I also am thinking about getting the book "Understanding Exposure."

I should be cracking down on the rest of the wedding planning...that is on my to do list!!! I did get some paper ordered for invites, and we took a few pictures the other day. Here are a few--
